Beauty Box Battle – Ipsy Vs Sephora Play

Beauty Box Battle – Ipsy Vs Sephora Play

It’s time for yet another beauty box battle; the last one for this year. Let’s not waste time and jump right into the battle between IPSY & Sephora Play.

This month IPSY’s glam bag was all about frosty days and twinkling nights. The bag is a silvery blue with glittery silver trim.

Steve LaurantLip Gloss in Café – It reflects light like crazy; one swipe and your will be shinning all day. It’s opaque but not heavy and won’t stick to everything. Plus, the neutral hue is gorgeous on many skin tones.

Smashbox Cosmetics – Always on Gel Liner in Fishnet – It glides on smooth and stays creamy long enough for you to smudge to your liking. It lasts a full 24 hours without fading, smearing, or flaking away.

Seraphine Botanticals Lip Polish in Orange + Cream – This lip polish tastes and smells delish! It’s made with natural ingredients like mango seed butter, avocado and apricot kernel oils and leaves your lips feeling super soft. The sugar-based formula is light and gentle, it won’t leave your lips feeling dry like other lip exfoliants.

Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Eyeshadow in Stargazing – The packaging gives serious #tbt vibes from the unicorn/rainbow queen Lisa Frank. This shadow is velvety smooth, blendable and long-lasting. It’s a sparkly gold, great for adding a subtle sheen to any look.

Luxie Beauty Precision Shader Onyx Brush 239 – This angled brush helps you evenly blend shadow into your crease, making a smoky eye easier than ever. The super soft bristles are synthetic, so no furry friends were harmed in the making of this fluffy brush.

Sephora Play Box

This month’s theme was “Glam Straight” and the bag was silky and champagne colored.

Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Shadow Duo in Golden Hour – Two beautifully pigmented bronzy shades that go on smooth and evenly. Plus, the compact is cute!

DRYBAR Triple Sec 3-in-1 – This airy spray revives lifeless strands, adds volume and body to your style, and extends your blowout.

Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen in Black – A long-lasting, easy-to-use liquid eyeliner with a precise tip to create smooth, jet-black lines.

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream – This soothing formula contains nurturing ingredients to calm redness and irritation.

Atelier CologneClementine California Cologne – This sunny, effervescent scent features California Clementines balanced with star anise and juniper berries.

My Thoughts

I really wanted to love the Steve Laurant lip gloss but it just wasn’t for me. It’s pretty and the applicator is nice, but I’m not a huge fan of lip glosses, especially if they feel greasy and/or tacky and this lip gloss was very greasy on my lips. I’m a fan of Smashbox and their eyeliner is really good, it glides on smooth and stays put once it’s dry. The Seraphine botanicals lip polish is fantastic, it tastes and smells great and it helped my dry winter chapped lips, making them kissable soft. I love everything Lisa Frank so this Glamour Dolls collab is perfect for me. The shade is a beautiful gold that is pigmented and goes on smooth and evenly. Lastly, the Luxie Beauty brush 239, while I have a ton of brushes I love that this brush is made for creases and smoky eye effects. Now onto the Sephora Play bag… The Smashbox shadows are very pretty and pigmented; I also like the tiny case it’s perfect for dropping in your bag for on-the-go use. The Make Up For Ever lipstick is great for achieving the classic red lip and is another product that is perfect for on-the-go. Next is the DryBar Triple Sec 3-in-1, it provides a nice amount of volume to hair without making it feel greasy or heavy. The liquid eyeliner from Clinique is alright, I have a lot of liquid eye liners so this one doesn’t really impress me too much, it’s black it goes on smooth and precisely. If you suffer from redness and irritation look no further than Dr. Jart, it goes on nicely without leaving behind any residue or causing breakouts. I have used Atelier since the first time I got a sample of it. It’s a beautiful unique scent that is very long lasting. So there you have it, my thoughts, now to pick a winner for this month’s beauty box battle…this was a lot tougher than I thought it would be because both boxes had products that I liked and other’s that I loved, but I think I’m going to crown IPSY as this months winner!! If you got to choose who the winner would be who would you pick and why? As always thank you for stopping by my page, be sure to follow so you can stay up to date with even more great products and reviews.
